href=\"https:\/\/mvsa.bmfa.uk\/butser\">Butser Hill<\/a> which is our main site.\u00a0<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/mvsa.bmfa.uk\/home\/mercury\">Wether Down<\/a> (Old Mercury site)<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/mvsa.bmfa.uk\/home\/harting\">Harting Down<\/a><br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/mvsa.bmfa.uk\/trundle\">The Trundle<\/a> we enjoy as a reciprocal arrangement with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cadmac.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\" Rules<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p>Please refer to the MVSA <a href=\"https:\/\/mvsa.bmfa.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/Handbook-feb-2024.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Handbook &amp; Site Rules<\/a>\u00a0which carries this information and more.<\/p><ul><li>The club flies even numbers on 35Mhz on 2.4Ghz and 868MHz. When operating on 35Mhz a square orange pennant with your frequency number marked in white must be attached to the transmitter. We use the peg off system for frequency control on 35Mhz. This means that you must take a peg from the peg board with your frequency channel or colour and clip it to your transmitter before you switch it on. None of the sites carry a fixed peg board. If one is not present then flyers present must communicate among themselves for control, until one is present.<\/li><li><strong>All flyers, MVSA members or not<\/strong>, are required to pass the MVSA Safety Assessment before flying unsupervised.\u00a0 This is to ensure we operate safely. See the MVSA <a href=\"https:\/\/mvsa.bmfa.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/Handbook-feb-2024.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Handbook &amp; Site Rules<\/a> for more details. The list of assessors can be found in the <a href=\"https:\/\/mvsa.bmfa.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/Safety-Assessment.pdf\">Safety Assessment Form<\/a>.\u00a0 Please contact the <a href=\"https:\/\/mvsa.bmfa.uk\/contact-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Secretary<\/a> if necessary.<\/li><li>Flyers must remain together. If a flyer wishes to fly away from the group i.e. cross country or DS\u2019ing then someone must remain in the main flying area who is aware of that pilot.<\/li><li>The public always take priority even if it means endangering the model.<\/li><li>Flyers must carry the BMFA and MVSA (if appropriate) membership cards.<\/li><li>Please observe the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/the-countryside-code\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Countryside Code<\/a> at all times.<\/li><\/ul><p>These two documents provide a great deal of detail on our responsibilities as model flyers: CAA\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/rcc.bmfa.uk\/article-16\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Article 16<\/a>\u00a0:\u00a0Model Aircraft Authorisation: and the <a href=\"http:\/\/handbook.bmfa.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BMFA Handbook<\/a>.<\/p><p>The location of these sites and other slope sites available for us to use, is subject to change and details can be obtained from any committee member.<\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Hang \/ Paragliders<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p>A close liaison exists between the MVSA and the <a href=\"http:\/\/skysurfingclub.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sky Surfing Club<\/a>. It has been agreed that we endeavour to keep clear of one another&#8217;s air space, but should a model and hang\/paraglider appear to be on a collision course, the model must give way.<\/p><p>A model must never be allowed to cross the silhouette of a hang\/paraglider.<\/p><p>Should a model make contact with a hang\/paraglider, the pilot responsible must report the incident to the safety officer.
