Harting Down is just to the South of South Harting village on the B2141 Petersfield to Chichester road. At the top of the hill is a \u2018Pay by phone<\/a>\u2019 car park although parking is free to National Trust members.<\/p>

This site is the property of The National Trust<\/a> with whom the MVSA have an agreement.<\/p>

Slopes<\/strong><\/span>
Wind direction – North North East to North West.<\/p>

This slope has very good lift with the sun behind you and plenty of room for landing.<\/p>

Please watch out for the occasional full size glider, out on a cross country, especially coming from behind the trees on your left.<\/p>

Rules of Use<\/strong><\/span>
The site is available for use by members of the MVSA, the CADMAC (by reciprocal arrangement) and the Sky Surfing Club<\/a>.<\/p>

Models may be flown under the following conditions: –<\/p>

Not to fly lower than 25\u2019 directly over or within 50\u2019 of the public right of way, or horses on or off the public bridleway.<\/p>

Avoid disturbing livestock.<\/p>

No more than 6 models may be airborne at any one time.<\/p>

Do NOT fly when livestock are occupying or close to takeoff\/landing areas or when instructed by Council or National Trust staff\/representatives.<\/p>

Strictly no use of power of any type (not even electrically assisted gliders). This is a NT countrywide requirement. To avoid perceived or actual breach of this NT requirement, propellers must be overtly taped in place such that it is clear that they cannot be used.\u00a0 SLS\/EDF hatches should be similarly disabled and overtly taped shut.<\/span><\/p>

Flyers must abide by the MVSA general rules and obey National Trust byelaws.<\/p>

Use common sense, avoiding the public, horse riders, livestock, and kites. Please be aware that the South Downs Way<\/a> cuts across the flying site.<\/p>

Be aware of hang\/paragliders and full size gliders who also use the slope.<\/p>

No vehicles beyond the car park.<\/p>

The site can only be used for leisure flying: no competitions\/demonstrations can be held at this site.<\/p>

FPV<\/strong><\/span> (first person view)<\/p>

Flying with the use of a camera is not permitted on this site<\/p>
